“Canes adding more excitement to South Florida college hoops scene

Florida Atlantic University is having a record-breaking season, no doubt, but the University of Miami is making a run up The Associated Press College Basketball Poll.

The Hurricanes moved up four spots to No. 15 in the major ranking after winning two games last week, including a blowout win, 81-59, against Duke and a 93-85 win over Louisville, the Miami Herald reports.

Some are talking about the team in the same breath as the “Elite Eight,” according to the Herald’s reports.

The Owls, meanwhile, after hitting a high of No. 19 in the AP Poll, are now ranked at No. 25.
