Winner: Jason Pizzo

Pizzo will be the next Senate Democratic Leader. The move was expected, as Pizzo serves as Leader Pro Tempore and is well-respected among his colleagues for his sharp mind and effectiveness. His colleagues formalized the move in a unanimous vote, meaning Pizzo will succeed current Senate Democratic Leader Lauren Book for the 2024-26 term.

Loser: Lynn Stoner

The former Plantation Mayor is dealing with a $1,200 fine from the Broward County Office of the Inspector General for multiple campaign finance violations, including overdrawing her account and making an unlawful post-election loan. “It was sloppy bookkeeping,” Stoner said.
