The Democrats want their House District back: Five high-profile elected Democrats are backing Jay Shooster’s campaign to snatch a south Palm Beach County district from Republican representation.

He’s challenging freshman Republican state Rep. Peggy Gossett-Seidman, who was part of 2022’s red wave in Florida when she won in House District 91.

U.S. Rep. Jared Moskowitz, state Sens. Lori Berman and Tina Polsky and state Reps. Joe Casello and Kelly Skidmore announced their support for the Boca Raton lawyer’s first bid for elected office.

The district covers Highland Beach and Boca Raton and had long been in the Democrats’ column.
