Gov. Ron DeSantis has reappointed Miami Beach lawyer Lilly Ann Sanchez, who negotiated a plea bargain for billionaire sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, to a Miami-Dade Judicial Nominating Commission.
DeSantis first appointed her July 2, 2019, four days before Epstein was again indicted for bringing “dozens” of underage girls to his Palm Beach mansion for sexual encounters.
As Epstein’s lawyer in 2008, Sanchez secured a deal in which he served 13 months on work release in a private prison wing. She defended the deal in March 2019, calling the number of victims “vastly exaggerated.”
Federal prosecutors identified 36 victims by then.
