South Florida’s Winner and Loser of the Week

Winner: All of Southeast Florida. Yes, it’s rainy and the flooding has already begun as of Tuesday. But the tri-county area has dodged the worst of Hurricane Ian, only feeling the effects of the outer bands. The storm continues on a track that could seriously impact the Tampa Bay area, and we are wishing for the safety of everyone there.

Loser: Joe Martinez. It was only a matter of time after the Miami-Dade County Commissioner was arrested on felony charges of unlawful compensation, but Gov. Ron DeSantis has now formally suspended Martinez. DeSantis will next look to appoint a replacement.
