New website promoting Broward County filmmaking showcases scenes that could star

From high rises to agricultural fields, seashore to swamp, Broward County is showcasing all the arresting scenes filmmakers could use on its new website.

Scenes that could stand in for anywhere, plus some uniquely Broward landmarks, star: the Goodyear blimp hangar, Hollywood’s guitar-shaped Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and the Hillsboro Lighthouse.

Broward County Mayor Lamar Fisher says the Film Lauderdale Program has been on a roll since its 2021 launch, attracting 11 projects with budgets that add up to $8.1 million.

The film industry, he said, is “creating economic growth, high-wage paying jobs and many new opportunities for small businesses.”
