The race for Miami-Dade County mayor that oversees billions is hot like August in, well … Miami. There are seven people running, and it will likely come down to Esteban Bovo, Daniella Levine Cava, Alex Penelas or Xavier Suarez.
Candidates are raising millions of dollars – with one war chest growing to $4 million. As with every campaign, this race has gone negative (we dare you to show us one that didn’t). Watch for aggressive tactics over the next few weeks as vote-by-mail ballots have dropped. The top two candidates emerging from the Aug. 18 primary will face off on Nov. 3.
