The 2020 United States Census was made official last fall and Florida’s congressional, legislative and local districts must be redrawn. Counties follow their own timelines for new maps, and Florida’s Legislature is charged with redrawing congressional maps approved by Governor Ron DeSantis. The State House and State Senate maps are approved by the legislature via joint resolution.
With a working April 1, 2020 Florida population of 21,538,187, state senators will represent 538,455 constituents and each of Florida’s 120 state house members will have 179,485 persons in their district.
The work is scheduled to be completed by Session’s end on March 11.
