Winner: Kevin Marino Cabrera. Cabrera, engaged in a runoff for the Miami-Dade Commission District 6 seat, pulled in two endorsements last week – including one from a former opponent. Entrepreneur Dariel Fernandez finished fourth in the Aug. 23 election, and is now backing Cabrera, as is Miami Springs Councilwoman Jacky Bravo. Cabrera faces Jorge Fors Jr. in November.
Loser: Gregory Tony. The Ethics Commission found Tony was untruthful when failing to disclose he had killed a man while 14 years old while applying for jobs with the Coral Springs Police Department and with the Broward Sheriff’s Office. He now faces a sanction.
